The word ikigai refers to a passion that gives value and joy to life. Ikigai can also be translated as: reason for being or the reason for which you wake up in the morning.
There are some basic rules if Ikigai, created by Hector Garcia and Francesv Miralles that includes:
This framework is really like a treasure map. This treasure map can help you find your way.
2. What I love
What did you enjoy doing as a child (or early adult years)? What do you do now in your spare time that makes you happy? What would you do for free? What could you do for "hours" and makes you happy?
When are you more excited about going to work/school?
Are you emotionally connected to your hobby, work or craft?
3. What you I am good at.
Do you know your strengths and skills? What are they?
What gifts or talents do you have?
What skills have you acquired?
What do people ask you to help them with?
Parts of your job that come easily to you.
Does your work/hobby feel intuitive?
4. Something the world needs.
What is in high demand in the marketplace? Picture the next 10 - 100 years-will your work still be valuable?
What and who inspires you?
What makes you annoyed/frustrated?
Could you solve a social, economic or environmental problem?
5. Do something you can be paid for.
What service or product could you sell (what would people pay you for)? What job could you do?
Is there a healthy level of competition for your work?
How could you make a good living?
6. Brainstorm and take notes.
Start visualizing and thinking about your path. This takes time. Maybe a few weeks. Think and pay attention to how you feel: What are you doing? What are you wearing? Who are you talking to?
Your goal is to find your center. Your Ikigai. ❤️🔥🙏
Consider thinking about your ideal workday, discover if your vision meets your real-life and maybe consider hiring a coach.
