1. Prepare the session
Invite your employee/client or team using the participant/guest invitation. *Schedule a meeting and share a conference call link to communicate easily. Explain the purpose of the tool. Add any notes here.
2. Open the board and list all the things that is cluttering your mind
Write as many items as you can continuously adding sticky notes for each item added. You can add more over time as you think of more. Some examples might include: Incomplete tasks Frustrations Poor processes and procedures Office cleanliness/tidiness Incomplete filing Indecision Unresolved issues or problems Other people's or your own behavior Overdue bills or invoices Outdated design Guilt Exercise/eating/sleep habits Clutter Unmet needs Crossed boundaries Poor morale Procrastination etc… Note: You can also create a list if you work better with a list format.
3. Evaluate how much each thing on the list is cluttering your mind.
Change the color of the sticky notes to evaluate the level of tolerance you have for each thing.
From 1 to 4 use these colors to easily visualize and organize the list of things cluttering your mind.
4. Pick one from the list and come up with ways to take action in the next day or two
You can do this by opening the board from step 3 or adding a note here.
5. Provide support and guide your team/client through the process.
Add notes, comments, or best ways to take action here. Tip: Choose one major thing from your list per day and focus on taking action.
6. Move items to the 'done' list and choose another item to tackle.
This should continuously be reviewed. Between steps 4 to 6, the process will repeat itself until the participant feel satisfied with their progress.
