Follow a visual checklist to introduce team members to new initiatives and projects. Imagine that this new project, initiative, or client is like a boat ride that you and your team are about to embark on. Ensure the wind is blowing in the right direction. Also, ensure the team members have the right skill set, everyone is committed to this journey, and rules and rituals are defined prior to starting. This tool includes a checklist and visual space that you and your team can use to brainstorm.

1. Checklist.

Go over this checklist to prepare for a new project, strategy, client or milestone. We will call this the journey.

1.Create a list with all the skills required for this journey and define who is responsible for each task.
2.Define individual work preferences.
3.Evaluate everyone's mood and energy. Is the wind blowing our way? Is everyone excited about this journey?
4.Discuss team rules and rituals. You can use one of our tools.
5.Do you have clarity? Is everyone on board with the mission and does everyone know where we are going?
6.Do we have a captain? Someone who defines the vision? Do you have additional stakeholders?
7.Do you have a process and a clear path to success?
8.How committed is the team? Do all team members have a common goal and understand how their contributions contribute to success? How committed is everyone to working together? Are we working as one?
2. Visualize the journey.

Add your skills, team preferences, team rules, etc to the board and help everyone visualize success.
