1. Company objective/Long-term goal (The Big Dream)

Consider your company objective or long-term goal along with measures to determine if you are making progress.

--

Our goal is [goal].

We’ll know it’s working when [key result].

This matters because [impact/reason]. ← adds meaning & priority

We’ll make it happen by doing [tactic].

--

👉This goal will be specific to the ways that the team can contribute to the overall strategy and linked to the organizational vision.

2. Team alignment.

To ensure we are all aligned, each department will create their own Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). Each of these objectives needs to contribute to the shared overall strategy and company objective.

Notes:💪👇

Each of these objectives will have measurable key results asociated with each objective.

These key metrics will help the team visualize how they can contribute to the overall company strategy and objectives.

•Objectives should be ambitious, similar to a BHAG.
•Objectives must be specific, measurable, and relevant.
•OKR's are public to the team.
•Consider objectives that will further your ability to meet the organization OKR's and strategy.
•OKR's include the Objective, the key result and your target.

💥Note: You can add additional templates to the whiteboard to support each department or you can open a new session.

Our goal is [goal].

We’ll know it’s working when [key result].

This matters because [impact/reason]. ← adds meaning & priority

We’ll make it happen by doing [tactic].

Adding why it matters increases commitment and helps with prioritization, especially for teams.

📌 Example

Our goal is increase trial-to-paid conversions by 15% this quarter.

We’ll know it’s working when our conversion rate goes from 12% → 27%.This matters because improving conversion has a bigger revenue impact than adding more leads.

We’ll make it happen by improving onboarding, adding progress milestones, and launching a 3-email activation sequence.

Boom. Clear, measurable, and motivating.

New Board
  • Objectives
  • Identify 3 to 5 key priorities and discuss them with your team. Once you’ve chosen your top priorities for the year, define each goal using the SMART method, ensuring they are: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
  • Long-term Goal (The big dream)
  • Our goal is [goal]. We’ll know it’s working when [key result]. This matters because [impact/reason]. ← adds meaning & priority We’ll make it happen by doing [tactic].
  • Our goal is [goal]. We'll know it's working when [key result]. We'll make this goal happen by doing [tactic]
