About this process
A research wall is a space where you can gather and analyzes your research findings to identify patterns, gaps, and key behavior and information while sharing all your research with team members. Very often research wall starts grouping information by clustering (octopus clustering) it using categories or by creating a mind map. Detective shows tend to show walls with all their findings and the crime scene. The research wall has a similar goal. Visually gather and connect all the key pieces of data and information in one place. 1. Research Wall
Add all the material on the wall and start creating groups in a way that seems easy to understand. Some good groups examples are: Common problems, interviews, customer segments, interview contexts. Note: These clusters (or groups) will probably change as you continue adding information to the wall.
2. Evaluate the clusters and connect sources and information
Evaluate if your initial name is right. Change the cluster name if you have to. Now look for connections between information and clusters and connect the sticky notes, pictures, links, ... to better map out how things connect.
3. Create a data index
Create a list with all your sources to make sure you can easily find all the information and sources.
4. Findings
Write a summary of your key findings
