About this process
Retain employees and build a thriving business by introducing a a good employee benefits strategy. Retaining employees and building a thriving business requires a comprehensive strategy that helps employees grow and feel supported through every stage of their lives. Life is messy, and unexpected events — such as moving, family emergencies, illness, early retirement considerations, the arrival of a new family member, or burnout from routine — can impact employees’ ability to stay engaged. While the foundation of employee retention lies in company culture — ensuring fairness, a healthy environment free from toxic behaviors, good working conditions, and competitive salaries — employee benefits often play a bigger role than we realize. Get access to the tools to start that conversation.

1. 💫 Start the discussion: Decide on Core and Optional Benefits
💫 Define core benefits that apply to all employees.
Create a list of optional benefits employees can choose from, along with associated costs.
Keep in mind that, every perk has a shelf life. What used to feel like a gift becomes the baseline. If you don't refresh the top of the pyramid, your whole benefits package silently slides into "meh."
Set a budget or limit per employee for choosing optional benefits. For example, employees may pick one option, or select multiple options within a set budget.
👉Post-survey: Use the survey results or discussion points to guide conversations with your leadership team.Focus on benefits that are most important to employees, but also consider those that may not have received high votes but could serve specific groups (e.g., retirement plans for older employees).
2. Establish Policies and Rules
Determine if certain benefits require specific conditions. For example:
