About this process
Invite your team and stakeholders to your meeting. Everyone will submit a proposal and everyone will be part of the final session where everyone will vote on the best idea/proposal. This is an effective way to manage your meetings because everyone involved during the meetings has a good understanding of the topic.

1. Break the ice and start the session
The session lead can start by adding initial sticky notes to the board with the key problems or ideas to discuss during the session.
2. Start brainstorming
Read the icebreaker or define the problem/challenge together. Once the initial sticky notes are added on the board, everyone on the team will have 2 to 5 minutes to write down ideas using sticky notes on the board.
3. Re-organize sticky notes
The team leader should go over all the ideas and re-organize the sticky notes if necessary. Sometimes it’s ideal to group together ideas with the same concept to continue exploring those groups further.
4. Develop ideas
When the sticky notes are organized and the team lead has completed the previous step, take another 5-10 mins to continue developing these ideas or concepts.
5. Repeat the brainstorming process (optional)
This process can be repeated as many times as the team wants. The session lead should specify here or in the initial instructions if they are going to continue with the session and how many times they will repeat the process. The session lead may highlight and specify any promising ideas that should be explored further.
- BRAINSTORMING & SESSION RULES:
- RULES ICE BREAKER
- What is the Problem/Challenge you want to brainstorm about?
- Be open-minded to others’ ideas. This is a brainstorming session so think about as many ideas as you can while the timer is on. Don’t worry too much about making your ideas perfect at this point. Add one idea per sticky note. Expand on the ideas of others:** This is a collaborative session where we’ll build ideas together, so if someone else’s idea inspires you, add new ideas to the board and share them. Respect others by keeping your explanations short so everyone has a chance to explain and share their ideas.
